After the night of their first kiss in Wood’s bedroom, Elena’s unrequited love went deeper. She knew in her head that she shouldn’t like him, but there was no way to stop her feelings from growing out of control. So Elena deliberately avoided Wood so she wouldn’t run into him. There was nothing to do but prepare his breakfast and dinner, and often dessert, but she stayed in the kitchen all day, helping the other cooks.
