Chapter 38

Every painting here was also familiar. The next to it and the next to it.

Every portrait hanging in the exhibition hall was the gift Roselia had given to Cedric.

“It’s too wasteful to keep them in that room. They were all lucky pictures.”

At the sudden sound of his voice, Roselia quickly turned her head.

Cedric leaned against the wall, with his arms crossed in his chest, watching her react. With his confirmation, Roselia realized that they were all real paintings.

The colorful works of Roselia filled the large and magnificent exhibition hall. Her paintings were crammed into a large space that anyone who paints the world dreams of.  This fact was enough to make Roselia’s heart pound with ferocious excitement.

Cedric added that it was good to look back at the past sometimes. Roselia hugged her pounding heart and looked around the exhibition hall without hesitation.

After one lap, she had a question.

“I don’t see that one.”

Her portrait of Cedric, the painting she had given him on the day she returned to the academy after the vacation was over.

Cedroc, who had been watching Roselia from afar, began to approach her at the question she hinted at.

“I didn’t hang it in the exhibition hall.”

Cedric gently stroked Roselia’s hair, which was a bit messy due to her rigorous movement. Feeling his touch, Roselia took a deep breath.

“Only I can see it.”

His pale fingers intertwined with her light brown hair. He ran down his fingers on her hair like a thread, lightly brushing Roselia’s cheek. Even with just this slightest touch, Roselia shrunk her neck like an ostrich.

Her body stiffened. On the other hand, Cedric, who was holding back, glanced around the exhibition hall, and gave a brief explanation. Roselia, who had all her attention to his touch, widened her eyes.

The exhibition hall was built in the heart of the capital. It meant that she would hang her work in the most populated places in the Empire. Also, since the exhibition hall was run by the Duke’s business, it was clear proof that she was supported by the Duke of Schulach.

In a relationship established as a sponsor, it was natural for the guardian to help the person being supported. Although what he did was appropriate in the present, what Roselia was wondering about was what he is going to give her later.

(I’ve been trying to hold back since the last time. But, with the Duke’s case, having his own portrait, then having that kind of symptoms, where he’ll get aroused, you know…anyway, it just sounded weird. Esp, the Duke, saying “Only I can see it.” hehehe.XD)
