Duke’s Exclusive Painter - Chapter 58
Chapter 58
The Marquis walked out, but Cedric looked at Roselia without saying anything. Knowing that his gaze was on her, Roselia just pretended not to know anything and cleaned up the studio.
“…let’s go.”
Soon, Cedric went to see off the Marquis of Tenuis.
Only after the door was closed did Roselia was able to take a long breath. From a certain moment, everytime Cedric’s gaze touched her, discomfort took precedence over comfort. It was never caused by displeasure, rather, it was like a reflex that came out because of her fondness for him that made all the hair in her body stand up.
Confused, Roselia slumped into the chair.
“I promised you, I will do enough.”
That confident smile of the Marquis of Tenuis keeps appearing in my mind.
“Sigh…”
Roselia crossed her arms with a deep sigh.
I took a step back in front of the canvas where the light was being illuminated. The picture that was revealed brightly was so wonderful that the word “masterpiece” came out.
However, Roselia’s impression was not realized. She clicked her tongue a little, and with her hand, she tore the canvas without hesitation. Already torn, a few pieces of the canvas fell on the floor.
I couldn’t concentrate on my work at all. The Marquis of Tenuis’ proposal and her thoughts about Cedric were tangled up like a thread, troubling her. After the short chapter about the Marquis, she kept thinking about Cedric, and her thoughts were driving her crazy and nervous.
Cedric Schulack, who was a lot older than her, was already old enough for marriage. So, it was not strange to hear news about his marriage anytime and anywhere.
The final blow to that thought was a conversation I overheard a few days ago.
A few days ago, I couldn’t concentrate at all.
It was a problem for me to leave the studio for a while. The maids, who were busy, weeping the corner, raised their voice well, unaware that Roselia was nearby.
“Is that true? I told you so! Yesterday, even the Duke of Kant, himself came all the way here! Indeed, the marriage between the master and the Duke’s daughter will be put forward.“
“If it’s the Duke’s daughter, you mean the beautiful woman who visited here last time, right?”
“That’s right, the person who came to ask for a portrait.”
“The two of them, from the moment they got off the carriage, the atmosphere was not right.”
As if talking about a romance novel of the century, Roselia’s heart seemed to freeze at the sight of the maids chattering.
