Surviving as the Weakest Maid in the World - Chapter 2 Part 2
There were two types of quests in this game: main scenario quests and bonus quests.
The main scenario quest is a required quest where if you do not complete it, you will not be able to continue the story.
However, since it is created in accordance with the progress of the background game story, it has the advantage of being able to be inferred to some extent.
However, bonus quests are literally bonuses for additional rewards.
Unlike the main quest, there is no difficulty in progressing through the game without having to complete it. It appears when you acquire it at the same time as the main quest, achieve certain conditions, or build intimacy with an NPC.
The advantage is that you can obtain items that are not available in the main quest. However, since hidden quests are content not very well-known, it has not yet been accurately defined. The only thing that can be assumed is that the level of difficulty is truly beyond imagination from the start.
Something like a high-definition illustration of a kissing scene!
And that was the first kiss with the male protagonist. The person he should kiss was the female protagonist of the original work, not the one-star maid Evelyn.
The reward was not even detailed. All I can know is that it is a skill.
No matter how good the reward was, I couldn’t muster the courage to kiss a male protagonist I hadn’t even met yet.
Additionally, I was a person who sought fateful encounters. I looked to my left at three tiny, blinking blue buttons and two red buttons.
The first is the basic information window where you can view your abilities and status.
The second is an inventory window where you can store and inspect items.
And the third is a quest window where you can check the list of quests you need to complete in the future and those you have already completed.
The fourth and fifth ones were only flashing red and were not activated yet.
It seemed to activate only when the story progressed to a certain point and the characters grew.
I pressed the top button among the five buttons.
At the same time, my surroundings seemed to stop and turn gray, and my information window appeared in the center of the screen.
★ Maid Evelyn Pearce
Gender: Female
Age: 21 years old
Unique Characteristics: low-class maid, unrivaled beauty
Power | One
Vitality | One
Agility | One
Intelligence | One
Charm | 100
“Wow, seriously.”
Even after rubbing my eyes, all my stats were still rock bottom except for my charm stat. I had to squint and look closely to see that the gauge bar was full.
No, I know the original story now, so what’s wrong with my intellect?
Although the charm stat was filled with red, it was completely useless in completing the quest. Other than the satisfaction of looking in the mirror, it is an ability that is no better than an old broom.
For reference, the broom was a hidden quest with strange illustrations and there was no reward or merit, so after catching the bee yesterday, I left it in a corner.
As soon as I exited the window, the gray surroundings returned to their original state.
I sighed out of frustration. I would have to play the role of the maid Evelyn properly, survive, and complete the main scenario to get out of here. I was able to hold out for a few days with the excuse that I was sick and dying, but it was difficult to make excuses anymore.
What should I do? I really hate dying.
“Evelyn!”
I heard someone calling me outside and urgent footsteps. Soon, the door opened wide without a knock.
“Evelyn!”
“H-huh?”
I stared blankly at the girl in a maid’s uniform with startled eyes.
Although she called me Evelyn in a friendly way, it was my first time seeing this girl with orange hair and green eyes. It was obvious that the NPC played no part in the original story.
The girl gasped and took a moment to catch her breath. She then raised her hand and pointed behind herself.
★★ Betty
Gender: Female
Age: 21 years old
Unique Characteristics: Roommate. Handmaid.
Intimacy: ●●●●○
“The head maid is calling!”
As soon as Betty spoke, Betty’s information window appeared right next to her.
“Betty……”
Intimacy is level 4.
Perhaps because it was the first NPC I met after starting the game, our intimacy was already high.
When I touched the window, which was large enough to fill the screen, it rolled up like parchment and disappeared to one side.
“Huh? What?”
Betty responded to my mumbling.
“Huh? No, nothing.”
By the way, she is also a maid and my roommate, so why is she 2-star!
She has no broom, only her bare hands!
“Why am you acting weird?”
As I stared at her in frustration, Betty tilted her head.
“Never mind. The head maid called for me?”
I shook my head and stood up.
“Yes, I said you were sick, but she told me to get you anyways. So I had no choice.”
“Is she going to scold me……”
It wasn’t like I was faking it, I really died and then woke up. It was a bit unfair.
However, the NPCs needed for the game’s story had no way of knowing that fact. At that moment, a beeping sound rang.
[The second quest has arrived. Visit the head maid with Betty right now. ▶Continued]
Just like the first quest, a window popped up. I was mesmerized as I looked at the surroundings that had turned light gray.
When I closed this window, I felt pressured to start doing something.
Betty was staring at me while holding the doorknob, as if she was waiting for me.
I’m sure she’s not going to wait all night like that, is she?
But my suspicions seemed to be correct.
Betty didn’t move after 10 minutes of staring at me. Sometimes I would shrug my shoulders or move my head and made strange sounds, “Hmm, ahem?”.
Does the notification window stop all the perception of the surrounding NPCs?
It was as if Betty didn’t even realize I was looking at the quest notification window.
I had no choice but to press the ▶Continue button. The notification window disappeared and I woke up speaking as if I was reading lines of a play.
“Y-yeah. The head maid called for me, so let’s go together.”
“Okay! I’ll go with you! Let’s go together!”
Then Betty smiled brightly and made way behind the door with the typical NPC way of speaking.
It’s real……
