The bride of the white night - Chapter 20
Chapter 20
“Oh, no, they are!”
“Then why aren’t you eating properly?”
How could she not? And it was only one day that Aisa lost her appetite. She was crushed by the burden of the key to Ainar Castle, which was given to her by the castle steward, and even when she tried to eat something, her stomach did not accept it. In the first place, Aisa was always undernourished because she was brought up in a temple with near-abuse treatment. Because of this, the stomach is not good, so if she felt even a little stressed or burdened, she could not digest food properly. It was so embarrassing and shameful to explain each and every word.
Confessing that was of no value, so instead she said. “I have no appetite…”
After speaking with her own mouth, Aisa became even more frightened. She had already confessed that she had intermingled with another man a while ago. However, if she says she is not feeling well now, she realizes that she might be suspicious. What if they even misunderstood that she was pregnant? It’s only been about a week since she came to Ainar Castle. It’s been that long since she had her wedding night with him. It doesn’t make sense to have morning sickness even if you conceived right away in the middle of the night. So she was afraid that she might be mistaken for having another man’s child.
“That, ah! That’s not it!”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s just that I can’t digest it because of the pressure! It’s not like, morning sickness… It’s absolutely not like that…” Even speaking with my own mouth, Aisa was again ashamed.
She didn’t want him to think she was having another man’s child. that she hated being thrown out. I felt really shameless and ignorant. After only a week or so of experiencing an affluent life where everyone treated her with respect, it seems that she doesn’t want to be kicked out. It was… so shameful and shameless. So it was. This is what I added. “If you want to kick me out at any time you can do it. I deserve it.”
She was afraid to want to stay here. So when my husband later changed his mind, it was because she didn’t want him to see her hanging on ugly.
In fact, rather than speaking to Caleb, it was a word that spoke to Aisa herself.
He said she would have to figure it out for herself… so she still might be kicked out of here at any time. So don’t have any hopes. Don’t take it for granted. Even if you say it with your own mouth, your heart feels less pounding. She tried not to care.
Aisa took out what she had put in the bedside box. It was the platinum key brought to him by the chieftain. A symbol of authority given only to the hostess of Ainar Castle. Seeing this, Caleb’s lips hardened slightly
“You mean you won’t take it?”
“You know I don’t deserve this.”
Caleb slowly got up. The bed sheet on which Aisa was sitting wobbled. It’s because he pressed it with force. The gesture seemed somehow filled with anger, and Aisa became a little afraid. Are you also angry with yourself? She just accepted whatever would happen. But the next moment, the words that came out of Caleb’s mouth were unexpected. “It is yours. No one in the world can have it but you.”
” Your Grace!”
Caleb closed the box and put it back next to Aisa. His low voice reached Aisa’s ears.
