Winter Hunting - Chapter 40
Chapter 40
Her whole body stiffened. I couldn’t even move because it was hard. There was a strange power that she couldn’t explain stopping her.
Ariste slowly turned around. A man covered in fur, sat on the railing looking toward the direction where Ariste was standing.
It was a face she knew too well. No, he was an unforgettable person.
There was a shadow in his sparkling platinum- colored hair, contrasting red eyes and slightly opened lips. The corner of his lips lifted up slightly.
“Where are you going?”
Ariste hurriedly blinked. The man, who seemed to have been made from ice, was shining even more in the sun. It was strangely unusual to the other talking. When I first saw him, even now, it was enough to captivate the viewers.
Ariste didn’t open her mouth as if stuck. The moment I met him, I couldn;t move properly as if I had been nailed.
At the same time, I remembered the hot moments I had shared with that man while I was out of my mind. The cold breeze touched my cheeks, and a feeling of heat circulated in her body.
‘At that time…it’s because it’s cold.’
It’s cold and it hurts so much to forget the pain. I just needed something desperately. She struggled to come to a conclusion.
He is a hunter, why is he here? Wasn’t he guarding the lodge? Many confusing thoughts came to her mind. When he heard no response after a while, the man slowly woke up. Then he approached Ariste with elegant and clean movement.
The man wears a simple thin jacket and pants. If it wasn’t for the silver fur that he wears around his body, his outfit was perfect for freezing and dying on this day.
“Huh?”
Ariste only reacted when the man came so close to her nose. As the man moved and spoke, it felt like the air around him was changing.
“Why, outside?” I mean…maybe because my tongue was frozen in the cold, my words flowed out vaguely.
“When did you come here? Why did you bring me here?”
I told you to let me go, wasn’t it an implicit consent? But I don’t have the courage to say it. As her voice came out like a resentment, the man just waited for her next word.
“No, thank you for saving me.”
No matter what it may be, if it weren’t for this man, I wouldn’t have been able to walk around like this. I don;t know if the Duke gave me mercy and saved her or not, but I am still breathing right now, so it became a silver lining. Maybe he reported that he didn’t find her in the Snowy Forest.
*Thruk*
The man took off the fur he was wearing and wrapped it around Ariste’s body. The cold, which seemed to be enveloping her, quickly faded.
“It’s okay, I…”
Ariste hurriedly tried to take off the fur, but she couldn’t because the man was holding it firmly. “It’s cold.”
The corner of his lips bend again and it looks good. She then realized that the fur that had just wrapped around her was the skin he had just hunted and peeled off. The beast that has this kind of fur must be very beautiful.
She felt his ruby-colored eyes sweeping a glance from her face to her body.
Is this person living in this castle? Ariste was embarrassed by the strange kindness he had shown, but on the other hand she was relieved.
He seemed to know at least the inner structure of this castle.
“I have a request…”
He looked across her silently.
I don’t know why, when he looked at me, I couldn’t help but gulp down.
“Me…pretend that you did not see me. You save me…what I can give…later, I will pay you back later.”
“Later on?”
“Yeah” Ariste nodded over and over again with her stiff hair. “When is later?”
