Amoral Heir - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
“Are you serious?”
Claudia looked in the direction of the sound. However, unlike her, the person who asked the question continued to cut the meat into small pieces with a knife. It seems his focus is only on food…
“Of course.”
She answered as small as a sigh. Only then did the fake Cassius stop. He looked at Claudia with unfathomable eyes. The moment her eyes collided with him in midair, Claudia felt a thrill running through her body that couldn’t be explained in words. At first glance, the man’s eyes seem insensitive.
However, inside it seemed empty, but there were a lot of emotions that I couldn’t know the depth of. It was like a swamp, and it seemed that if you accidentally stumbled into it, you would not be able to get out and continue to struggle in it. So Claudia unknowingly shrugged her shoulders and unconsciously pulled her back slightly.
“Lady Claudia. This is a very sudden statement. If you allow me, may I ask why you want to break up?”
“You know that better than anyone. isn’t it?”
The man smiled and slowly leaned back on the chair and stared at Claudia.
“Well, I’m not sure.”
It was a natural answer that seemed shameless. Claudia bit her lip for a moment and stiffly turned her head.
“Then I have nothing more to say. I guess.”
I felt resentful that I felt like I was losing for some reason, but that doesn’t mean I can’t keep looking at him. After taking her eyes off the fake Cassius, she let out a long, trembling breath and spoke to Douglas, trying to find her composure.
“Douglas. I’d rather do everything, I wish I could have told you honestly. If it was, I would have been able to try to understand. But this is a deception, Mr. Douglas.”
“I said to you Claudia in the study, but you seem to have misunderstood something.”
“Yes, you said so. But I also saw it. The notice of death last night was from Cassius, who was wet from the rain and was rolling around in muddy water. I couldn’t confirm it with my own eyes, but the cold body of Cassius must have been lying on top of the cart where you, Douglas, was looking down on in sorrow.”
Unlike Claudia, who calms down as she continues to speak, Douglas knocked nervously on the table.
“I want to mourn the death of Cassius. Even though I’ve only met a handful of times, I’ve been living as his fiancée for 10 years. But before I could even be sad, there was a man who suddenly appeared by his name.”
After saying that, Claudia closed her lips. She lowered her gaze for a moment as if choosing words, then slowly opened her lips with a determined expression. The shallow breath that escaped before the voice trembled dangerously.
“Hey… am I the one that is crazy? Or… are the Werners insane?”
