Amoral Heir - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Cassius Werner. Rumors related to him were always ‘grave’. But he did not die as if he would die soon. It was as strange as it was. The Marquis, who occasionally stopped by the capital to observe Claudia’s life, asked for a ceremony as soon as Cassius’ health improved. However, after 10 years, his condition did not improve. So, the engagement was only maintained for 10 years, and the wedding was postponed. Then the war broke out at the end of last year. An iron mine was discovered in a territory adjacent to the border, and the neighboring country of Gibelin coveted it and eventually invaded first.
That’s why Marquis Douglas Werner thought he could no longer put off his son’s marriage.
[Claudia. Come down to the Werner estate as soon as possible.]
As if waiting for a short telegram from Douglas, Claudia simply packed her clothes. This engagement had always left her with a great sense of indebtedness. As the days passed and the years changed, Claudia began to think that she was an insectivore. All the conveniences she enjoyed were what Douglas would give to his “future daughter- in- law.” But she couldn’t marry Cassius and only took up time, and even though it wasn’t because of her circumstances, she felt uncomfortable. Because of that, Claudia felt that something had finally arrived. However, on the day she arrived at the Werner estate, the Marquis was in a different sense.
“You ugly bastard!”
It was just when Claudia had just entered, guided by the butler. A sharp plosive sound resounded throughout the main hall. The protagonist of this voice was familiar. It was her prospective father- in- law, the Marquis Douglas Werner.
“I won’t allow it!”
Douglas as if you were blocking the door stood with his back to the door that Claudia had come through. So it seemed that he had not yet noticed that she had arrived. Claudia had her eyes on a young man a head taller than Douglas. Blond hair close to wheat color. The man slowly raised his head and looked at Douglas with cold eyes.
“I am an adult. What do I mean die? Garden means that I don’t need my father’s permission. You will never break my will.”
“Ah.” Claudia unknowingly let out a cold voice. In the conversation between the two, it was because she had just realized that the man was her fiancé, Cassius. Rumors that he was sick seemed not to be a lie at all. He was tall, but his skin was pale and overall dry. Perhaps because of his pale face, he gave a slightly nervous impression.
“By the way, where are you going?”
No matter how you look at it, it’s clear that you’re not going for a walk. Cassius had a street hat in his left hand and a neat gym bag in his right hand. Marquis Werner shouted terrifyingly again.
