Amoral Heir - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
She looked at him and opened her mouth. What was forbidden in the place. She felt that now was the right time to ask that question. she asked in a subdued voice.
“What the heck… is your true identity?” “What?”
Cassius had a look of surprise. He never dreamed that Claudia would ask him that question.
“Is that important now?”
Leaving behind a lonely smile, he turned around. Claudia raised her heavy body and urgently grabbed his hand and held him upright.
“How long are you going to run away? Like I said before, you’re fake and I have no intention of telling others. So it’s okay if you tell me.”
“If you choose to accept me as Cassius, you shouldn’t be curious about my identity or my past.”
Even though she had confided in him like this, Claudia was disappointed and angry at him for not revealing her true feelings until the end. She stubbornly glared at his back. Watching him slowly move away, she spat out a question as if chewing.
“You…… the real Cassius that died, are you by any chance his brother?”
4. The Real Cassius
Claudia’s voice was full of conviction. At that word, the man’s steps stopped again. A short breath was heard. He slowly turned back to Claudia. He looked down at her with a gaze devoid of any warmth. Claudia responded confidently without avoiding his gaze with those unwavering eyes.
In the chair, the heat that had been heated up by the bloody affair they had just shared hadn’t gone away. and remained. Cassius stroked his chin.
“I’m sure you are.”
“Because that makes the most sense.”
Claudia raised her chin a little. Always thinking what is the identity of this man who looks just like the real Cassius and embraces herself every day? Then one day she suddenly remembered it. An old story that is not even gossip that has been passed around in social circles.
“If only the second son were alive, Marquis Werner’s worries must have been half of what they are now.”
Someone said it while pretending to be concerned about the sick Cassius. Claudia knew only one thing about the late Marquis Werner. The Marquis’s wife became pregnant again two years after giving birth to Cassius, and died of childbirth fever after giving birth to the child. Later, the Marquis Werner tried to give birth to but nothing is known about what became of the child. Everyone just guessed that Douglas, the Marquis of Werner, hadn’t said anything about his second son, that he wasn’t growing well and that something bad had happened in the middle.
