Duke - Chapter 10
Chapter 10
It seems to be a topic closed for discussion..
Sylvia glared at Victor’s wide back.
‘I’m really lucky.’
The Duke put himself in a high-pressure stance as if he had no idea how to talk to a woman. If not, Sylvia wouldn’t have been a modest wife, and would pretend to be a noble.
I thought, if that was the case, he wouldn’t have told me to go to work.
But it was an extreme job as it was. I couldn’t imagine myself screaming under that heavy body.
‘It’s unfortunate, but what can I do? He has the upper hand in this all.’
It was fortunate that the owner didn’t drive me away. She sighed and continued her embroidery.
When Sylvia opened her eyes, she was already on the bed. She woke up in amazement. Last night she slept in a chair by the window. The thought of sleeping with him on the same bed was terrible by itself. So even if it was a little uncomfortable, I slept sitting in the chair. But why am I in the bed?!
‘Maybe he moved me here?’
I hated just smelling him, and imagining that man’s large hand touching my body while I was ignorant of it in my sleep. That wasn’t really good either. She just decided she must have crawled into the bed while sleeping. Whatever helps her mind to be at ease.
Sylvia left the room. The servants greeted her brightly, and Sylvia smiled lovingly and accepted it.
By the time she went down the stairs on the first floor, Slyvia guessed that she may have had a nightmare. Everything was as peaceful as yesterday.
Maybe she was trembling with anxiety about Victor Aswan’s return, and then had a very reality-like dream.
(an inception…..?)
