Duke’s beautiful tailor - Chapter 23
“No, because of the news of the master’s accident, many rumors were circulating outside <Book of Knights>. Since many people had been wondering about our circumstances, at a time like this, the young lady should attend the tea party and let them know that the master was still alive and well. And that there’s no problem with the shop.”
Jerome raised his hand to block Helena’s response.
“Didn’t the master usually tell the young lady to attend social gatherings she was invited to? And a good boss should trust the employees who were entrusted to the work. You said that you don’t want to attend- is it because you don’t believe in the skills of other tailors?”
Helena hurriedly shook her head at those words.
“It is never like that. I’m just a little worried…”
“Of course, I know how you feel. But you’ve been confined to the house for too long. That’s not good for your health. And it’s only half a day.”
Helena sighed once more.
She did not want to be disturbed, not only because of the problem existing of <Book of Knights>, but also because she genuinely enjoyed making the duke’s clothes.
It was the first time for her to make clothes for a person as beautiful as the duke, using such expensive high-quality fabrics and auxiliary materials to her heart’s content.
What’s more, it was something she did while she was the one in front, commanding all the other apprentices.
Rather than sitting quietly with a polite smile in front of the ladies, she wanted to sew while touching the fabric that wrapped around her fingers.
But she soon nodded because she knew Jerome was right.
“Okay, Jerome. I’ll be attending, so don’t make that angry face.”
“How can I be mad at you? It’s a pity that Miss stays up all day making clothes. Please take this opportunity to get some fresh air. Miss needs a break.”
“Yeah, I got it.”
Helena knew that Jerome was speaking for her own good. Eventually, Helena wrote to the Countess of Cashford, thanking her for inviting her to the tea party and saying that she would definitely attend.
When Helena decides to attend a tea party, May becomes busy. May was just as happy as Jerome was to hear that she was going to the tea party because she was just as dissatisfied with Helena being locked up in the workshop and sewing.
However, May, who had been smiling brightly, telling her miss to leave everything to her, soon looked through Helena’s closet and sighed.
“It’s a pity that you don’t have a new dress. Dresses with gorgeous lace on the chest are in vogue this year.”
“But I’m not a noble lady, so I don’t have to make a new dress every season,” Helena said in an indifferent tone.
“But Miss is someone from <Book of Knights>. You’re Master’s daughter!”
“It’s okay. It’s not like I’m the daughter of <Rose Garden>.”
As May protested, Helena responded with a burst of laughter. May was very displeased with Helena’s reaction.
“Miss loves making clothes for other people, so why aren’t you interested in your own clothes?”
