Duke’s Exclusive Painter - Chapter 27
Chapter 27
“What happened at the academy, I heard of it.”
Cedric nonchalantly changed his words, fearing that mentioning the Count would make her uncomfortable. This fact, too, was surprising, but Roselia’s wide-opened eyes did not sink.
He wanted to hear more from her. Unlike what he saw in the report, there may be another story hidden beyond it. So, I looked back at Roselia, but she suddenly looked down.
“I’m sorry.”
I never thought that an apology would come out at this point.Cedric looked at her with a curious look.I wonder if she’s truly apologetic, but her bright light is like the sky shrouded with dark clouds.
It was dark and sullen.
“Why apologize?”
Cedric reviewed their conversation to see if there was anything he might have missed, but he caught nothing. When he asked again, Roselia played with her pale fingers dyed with paints.
“The Duke heard something you shouldn’t have because of me.”
Cedric looked up at Roselia on her chin. She looked as crooked as a thorn to the fullest, but she actually managed to retain her innocence of her age.
Cedric unexpectedly reached out and pulled Roselia in.
Roselia blinked a couple of times. In the meantime, she sat next to Cedric.
“I don’t think there is any reason for you to apologize.”
“But…”
“Do you think that such a few students were going to hurt my reputation just by you talking to me?”
His voice was calm as if she really had such an innocent idea. His completely unexpected answer left her dumbfounded.
“I was thinking about it since the last time.” Cedric woke her up by tapping his finger on her forehead. “You apologize too often.”
Learning her habits she didn’t know about, Roselia just blinks her eyes as if she didn’t understand. She reacted, “Ah…” and then became silent again.
‘It’s not a good attitude to become too modest, but…’
“I mean, unless it’s a matter that needs an apology, you don’t have to be sorry.” Her apologies so far have never been worth it.
Why? Is it a sin for a child, who has nowhere to go, to go visit his patron?
Why is she being apologetic for having Cedric brought up the student, who keeps shouting accusations to her in the first place?
From Cedric’s point of view, they were all incomprehensible.
“If that is really difficult, then say something else instead of an apology.”
“Saying other words?”
“Thank you, that’s enough.”
Cedric, oddly enough, did not like to hear the word “sorry” coming out of her mouth. So, you can just replace it with another word. I don’t want you to say that.
At least I can bear it if her apologies were directed at me, but the thought of her saying them to others gives me a tingling sensation on the back of my neck. It was clearly an evidence of displeasure.
(The Duke finally took a step forward, embarking on a journey towards his father’s footsteps. But whether or not he will act the same as his father, transforming the story towards the road of sadomasochism is still unknown. But there is still a light beyond that dark fog. Maybe this is just a story full of drama. Nevertheless, if you guys really want to find out~ Continue reading the story…hehehe I dont know either. XD)
