Duke’s Exclusive Painter - Chapter 56
Chapter 56
“How long has it been?”
(Maybe he’s talking about the time she started taking orders for a portrait? It wasn’t mentioned that much.)
The Marquis of Tenuis took a deep breath and exhaled a question. Roselia responded as she was drawing with a sound of the brush around his sharp jawline.
“Yeah, it’s been about seven months now.”
“When was the first time you met the Duke of Schulach.”
After finishing his jawline, Roselia’s hand, which was slowly descending to his large neckline, stopped. So far, he only asked about her, but as soon as Cedric left, he brought up Cedric-related questions.
Roselia gently raised her gaze with the brush on the canvas.
“…we first met when I was still in the academy.”
“Since the Duke is doing well, so he was still in a patronage relationship with you?”
The suspicion deepened in the corner of Roselia’s eyes. Suddenly her hand stopped completely, and she stared at the Marquis of Tenuis. The distinctiveness in her crimson eyes were sharp.
His eyes seemed to have an overlapping gaze with the peculiar eyes of a snake, then he suddenly stood up. The Marquis, who did not seem to be getting up from the sofa even after moving his mouth hard, suddenly behaved like that, Roselia had no choice but to raise her vigilance like a blade.
“If the Marquis does anything nonsense, shout out right away.”
Cedric knew something and warned her something like that.
As Roselia raised her gentle eyes fiercely, the Marquis of Tenuis raised his hands as if surrendering to not make her too vigilant.
“Miss Roselia, don’t be too scared. I don’t mean to hurt you, huh?”
Even when the enemy tried to reassure her Roselia couldn’t ease her tension. It was because the figure of Count Rise, whom she met while she was still attending the academy, was overlaid on the figure of the Marquis of Tenuis. The Marquis let out an embarrassing smile at Roselia’s attitude, which seldom released her defensive posture.
He turned his hands behind his back as if to prove his intentions.
“I want to make a suggestion to you.”
“Suggestion?”
“I want to be your new patron.”
As it was an unexpected suggestion, Roselia widened her eyes. The Marquis of Tenuis explained calmly, as if he fully understood her startled feelings.
“I went to the Cordelia exhibition hall and was very surprised to see Miss Roselia’s paintings.”
Marquis of Tenuis turned his head to and fro as he stayed in one position for a long time, and approached the window. His shadow ran long across the interior of the studio.
Listening to the Marquis’ explanation, Roselia remembered the conversation she had with Cedric before
Cedric Schulack too, was like that in the past.
(Our Fl is already tired of men, who have flowers in their mouths!)
