I'm in Trouble Because The Emperor Thinks My Time is Limited - Chapter 22.1
“Are you out of your mind?!”
The priest shouted in anger to the point where a vein bulged in his neck. In front of him, the two men had lowered their heads, and they were never in such a position to be.
One was the Emperor, and the other was a dragon.
“Fighting in front of a patient who had just woken up after 3 days! What is this nonsense?! Huh?”
The priest had always treated me calmly without saying anything strange about my condition, but when he learned that Lionel and Melaine fought, he raised his voice and began to vent his anger.
“I thought there was an earthquake because the ground was shaking. Who would’ve thought it was a person?! And to fight until the ground starts shaking!”
Something common sense left the mouth of the priest. I gave him a wink to stop, but the priest didn’t even pay attention to me.
“Ha! I won. Oh my!”
The priest’s empty cough, in the sense of absurdity, was very colorful.
I was nervous watching it because the priest didn’t realize what he was doing was terrifyingly bold.
The more you don’t know, the braver you are.
The priest pointed his finger in all directions.
“And magic! Fighting until the ground splits when we shouldn’t even fight with words. If you wanted to fight that much, you should have gone out and done it! Why are you having a fight when Madam Lindel is next to you?!”
Like a grandfather angry at his grandchildren’s fighting, the priest threw out his anger.
The priest’s finger pointed to my neck this time. His eyes were fixed on Melaine.
“And you!”
Melaine shuddered at the priest’s shout.
“What kind of treatment leaves such a bruise on their neck!? Huh?!”
The priest was about to hit Melanie.
Looking at the room’s condition, which was almost half destroyed, you could tell Melanie was strong. However, the priest did not seem to be afraid of him.
“I’m sorry.”
Melanie is acting like a human right now! I thought he would say the same thing and get angry, but beyond my expectation, he apologized calmly.
No one noticed my surprised face.
“If Lindel hadn’t stopped me, I would have made a very premature death! Do you understand?!
That priest would be the only one who could say such a thing to a dragon. Of course, he can say this because he doesn’t know.
The priest, who had been angry to his heart’s content, seemed to slowly end his nagging.
He was out of breath, but his formative eyes were as strong as most generals.
“Anyway, please be careful of both of you in the future.”
The priest kept his eyes open and went out, saying he would prepare to return.
When the priest disappeared, silence entered the room. Among them, the first one to move was Lionel.
Lionel poured the water that one of the previous knights handed over earlier and fed it to me with his hands.
It wasn’t until the water went down my throat that I realized I had suffered from a terrible thirst.
It hasn’t been long since I opened my eyes, but since then, so much has happened at once that I didn’t realize it.
Melaine, who was watching me drink water, looked around and said something.
“Can you tell me about the curse?”
Lionel and I looked at Melanie at the same time.
Melaine asked carefully, his eyebrows slanting sadly.
“The priest said that earlier. It’s because of the curse that you became like this.”
“That’s a load of bullsh*t.”
I answered resolutely at the same speed as the light.
With the help of the priest, some of my energy returned, so I was able to move a little.
I could feel Lionel’s gaze on my cheek, but I didn’t turn my head.
Melaine glances at Lionel and spoke to me again.
“But you said you were cursed instead of this man.”
“That’s all nonsense.”
I was still wary of dealing with Melanie, but he seemed to have somehow calmed down after I vomited blood.
My words came out more comfortably because Melanie seemed to have no intention of attacking us anymore.
“More than anything, you know. My soul is fine. The priest said my soul was twisted because of the curse but look. You didn’t say that.”
I answered confidently.
Melaine said that my soul was still in its place, so now the misunderstanding could be resolved soon.
But it was just my delusion.
Melaine looked at me with sad eyes.
“I don’t know anything about the twisting of a soul.”
“What?”
“I only grasp the existence of the soul in the body, but I can’t even confirm its form. Because I can only feel it, not see it with my eyes.”
When I didn’t understand what Melanie meant, he began to wriggle his hands and explain.
“When I looked, you had no problem except that you were weak and exhausted. But you know, you can’t bleed like that in a normal state.”
There was some common sense in the mad dragon’s head. He didn’t notice it even though I was dumbfounded.
Melanie paused to catch his breath.
“I don’t see the exact appearance of the soul. So for now, it makes the most sense that it happened because your soul was twisted, as the priest said. It is possible for a broken soul to destroy its body without leaving a trace.”
I shook my head quickly. Speculation was a no deal.
“How does that make sense? It can’t be possible to twist your soul in the first place.”
