I'm in Trouble Because The Emperor Thinks My Time is Limited - Chapter 25.1
After the priest arrived, Lionel closed the bedroom door and returned with his face crumpled in misery.
As the frustrating situation continued, his mood became worse each day.
The knight who had just moved Lindel onto the bed came to the side of Lionel, who was holding back his anger.
“You didn’t feel anything this time either?”
“Sorry.”
It was clear that something had happened, but surprisingly no traces were found.
If there was an intruder and Lindel faced them, the knights would have inevitably found out.
But none of the senior knights on guard knew about it, but they always found Lindel collapsed.
More importantly, there was no sign of a break-in.
At first, Lionel thought he had overreacted. He only knew that Lindel’s condition had worsened and she was collapsing more often.
It was a hopeless thought, but he thought it might have gotten better at the time.
‘It would have been better than worrying about an enemy who I don’t even know exists or not.’
The sword. From the moment Lindel suddenly took out the decorative sword, Lionel felt suspicious.
The next objects found were all sword-like objects.
Objects that were easy to swing and could block something or attack an opponent.
Additionally, there were traces of damage on the objects.
“The traces on the stand are the same as last time.”
“I checked too, but I looked into it as soon as I entered the room, but there were no signs of battle.”
“It’s driving me crazy.”
There were always signs of wear and tear on what Lindel would have used. It was a trace of swinging an object wrapped in aura.
“Lindel can’t use aura right now, so what the hell is going on?”
It was as the knight said.
The weakened Lindel couldn’t use aura. Not only that, wrapping regular objects with aura was a more complex technique than wrapping swords with aura.
There was absolutely no way that was possible for Lindel right now.
Therefore, it was more likely the attacker could use aura or at least a mana-loaded attack.
But there was one strange thing, too.
“Preventing such attacks with ordinary decoration… How is that possible?”
No matter how durable the sword was, it could not withstand an attack with an aura.
However, if it was used to prevent the attack, it should have broken immediately into fragments and disappeared, but it remained intact.
“Besides, they fought to the point that the furniture in the room collapsed? Even a passing dog would laugh.”
When asked about this, Lindel replied confidently that he did not know.
Frequent coughing blood, constantly collapsing. Plus the supposed signs and strange circumstances. Everything is suspicious.
“What the hell are you hiding?”
Lionel felt like he was going crazy. No, he was already crazy, and it was becoming too much to even pretend to be a normal person.
Unfortunately, Lindel didn’t tell them the truth.
If it was possible to watch her every hour, there would have been nothing to worry about, but even that was impossible.
Lindel strongly demanded time alone and never accepted no as an answer.
Behind Lionel, who was grabbing his aching head, Luna opened the door and came in.
Her eyes, red from crying, had become sunken, but Luna rubbed it with her sleeve as if it didn’t hurt.
The girl approached Lionel with a determined face.
“Your Majesty, I have something to tell you.”
“Tell me.”
“Madam Lindel. Madam Lindel is strange.”
“We all know that very well.”
Lionel raised the corners of his lips with a cold face, but Luna did not back down. Luna shook her head at Lionel’s words.
“That’s not it. What this lowly girl means is Madam Lindel’s attitude.”
“What does that mean?”
“Lindell smiles often these days. Before, she always looked tired and smiled faintly, but these days, she smiles brightly.”
Luna bit her lips briefly and continued in a trembling voice.
“You’re smiling brighter on purpose as if you’re trying to show it.”
“Show it?”
“It’s okay, it’s nothing. You’ve said that a lot before, but the atmosphere has been different these days. I’m sorry to say this, but I guess I’m a little defensive. You speak so firmly that it seems rebellious.”
That was what Lionel felt, as well as the knight. Lindel has recently become more and more prone to protesting.
“Go on.”
“Every time Madam Lindel does that, she says it with a big smile, and it seemed like you were teasing me.”
The knight looked momentarily surprised at the dangerous choice of words, but before he knew it, Luna was shedding tears the size of chicken droppings.
