Imprint Of Count Wolf - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Even though she looked like an ordinary woman, the Duchess gave her to Lisa because she wasn’t just a maid, but a cruel guard sent to keep her oppressed.
The maid tried to argue more, but when Anne ordered the maids, she was forced out of the room. Then, the maid shouted before the door closed.
“If you do this, the Duchess will not stand still for this humiliation!”
Bang!
When the door closed, the room became quiet.
Lisa shuddered. She was a stranger, but when the familiar maid’s eyes disappeared from her sight, she felt better.
“I have prepared a bath. You must have been tired from such a long way, and feel a bit dusty. Please change your clothes.”
“It’s so late already, are we having the wedding right away tonight?”
“The Lord is a busy person.”
“You are right.”
Lisa did not ask anymore. She is not important anyway.
It would be better if Count Arnulf was busy and had to simply just go through the procedure of the wedding. Then we won’t have to keep each other company often. The less we interact the better.
‘I’m the Countess. They will not dare to starve me. When it comes to this, I simply can not lose.’
If only the rice and daily necessities were given on time, it didn’t matter if they left her in an outer courtyard building somewhere in the corner of this huge estate, and forget about her existence completely
‘I am a very quiet person. I have the confidence to live alone without being disturbed.’ The bathroom Anne guided me to was full of steam. The water in the porcelain bathtub was so hot that it was dazzling.
Lisa soaked the tip of her toes in the tub to test out the temperature, and carefully stepped into the water. It smelled sweet as if they dropped perfume in the water. ‘How much attention is everyone paying to this wedding ceremony?’
It’s a luxury that may only be once in this lifetime, but Lisa wasn’t comfortable enough to enjoy it. The harsh treatment was terrible, but the unpredictable treatment was worse. Expectations were terrifying.
No. Because I am the Princess of Aida for now. Even those servants and maids who have prepared for the wedding don’t know the truth. This was all normal treatment for a Royal Princess.’
No one would have thought that the Duke of Aida had taken a serf’s daughter and taught her high society manners for a month at best.
Then, Ann speaks out in a quiet subservient voice. “You have to take the first night into consideration, so it would be better not to eat anything now. It will be hard on your body if you feel nervous later with a full stomach, Princess.”
“May I?” asked another maid politely with a smile.
“Yeah.”
Lisa replied like someone who doesn’t have any other choice.
The maids moved silently and trimmed Lisa’s fingernails and toenails in a proper round shape.
‘They are probably preparing to avoid me scratching Count Arnulf’s body.’
(Talk about low self- esteem. But we all kinda understand why she has these insecurities.)
