Chapter 1 

Her body felt heavy as if being crushed by a rock. Yasmine forcibly opened her heavy eyelids.

My mind was confused and my vision was all blurry. I slowly blinked a few times and saw the luminous moon outside the window. With the breeze blowing through the open window, the thin veil fluttered powerlessly. She breathed in a faint scent of flowers.

 Instead of forcing my aching body, I only moved my head a little and looked around. Not a single candle was lit, but the moonlight coming into the room was bright.

The shape of the room caught my eye to some extent. Its size and structure were clearly different from the house I was living in. It was an unfamiliar place, but it felt peacefully quiet.

It was said that when Jang Jeon ,who went to war with the three princes, returns, he will receive Hong Julia, the eldest daughter of the Hong family, as the hostess of the Jang family. While the family owner of the Jang family was away, the old lady who was left in charge of the family instructed Yasmine to decorate the room where the hostess would stay.

But, why am I here now?

Her head felt squashed as if someone was squeezing her brain. Yasmine, with her eyes distorted, raised her body with her arms on the floor. She couldn’t make a sound as the inside of her mouth was dry. She swiped her stiff tongue on the roof of her mouth and the taste felt bitter. She didn’t enjoy alcohol much, but she realized that she came here drunk.

What happened?

Yasmine shook her fragile head from side to side. She didn’t enjoy alcohol, so she didn’t even like being around it let alone drinking it. Regardless of whether she was drinking or sleeping or for whatever reason, the Old Lady would punish her severely if she knew she was here. So she had to leave this room before she got into trouble.
