Chapter 9

I wanted to undo what I had done. As the coachman said, it’s winter all right. I’m sure this place will be beautiful when spring comes. The room was very spacious and fully furnished. The furniture is not new, but it has been well maintained and must have been old, expensive furniture.

“Bed is big….”

What surprised Pia was that the bed was very spacious. The bed that Pia used to use was small, old, and worn out. Everything was creaking. Besides, the blankets were always damp.

“The blanket is soft…”

But this bed looked sturdy and, above all, the linens were all dry.  “Closet.. mirror… “

When I opened the closet, there were a few clothes hanging on it. “Is it my clothes?”

They told me to use this room, so can I wear these clothes too?

‘If you don’t know, let’s not wear it casually.’ Yes. The clothes are pretty, but I chose not to wear them for the first time because I could be mistaken.

“It’s a rocking chair.”

A rocking chair was placed in front of the window, and a beautiful small chandelier was shining on the ceiling. The elegantly patterned wallpaper and floor were made of marble.

“There is a bathroom.”

Pia opened the small door and her eyes widened. Of course, it was the first room with a bathroom. In my previous house, I used to draw water from a bucket downstairs and put it on the stove to heat it up, then pour water into a small bucket and wash myself with it. However, this bathroom includes a marble bathtub and a hand and face wash facility.There was even a faucet made of gold in the marble sink.

“Will water come out when I turn it on?”

When I turned the faucet carefully, water came out. I heard that there was a faucet installed in the residences of nobles, so that hot and cold water could come out from the faucet without having to bring it up from the lower floor, but it was the first time I saw it in person.

“When you want to wash, you can wash as much as you want. Besides, hot water comes out.” Everything was a series of admiration.
