Chapter 5

Floris, who was praised as ‘Young-ae’, was also not easy. Having an upright posture, bright sparkling eyes, and a calm tone that does not lose reason in any situation were always enough to drive Kogen crazy. Both of them shut their mouths and went down the spiral staircase, and two paths emerged, but one of them could not walk on because it had completely collapsed.

“I came towards that road, but it collapsed because I was dealing with monsters. A new path must be taken. But there may be some pitfalls. It was difficult because there were various magics in the castle.”

“I can’t help it.” Floris ain’t so scared.

They  walked slowly. “I wasn’t born like you, so I couldn’t put magic into my sword, but I can use magic enough to protect my body. Don’t worry, let’s go.”

She was so calm that it was hard to believe that she had been kidnapped by a monster and had been imprisoned at the top of the castle for a month. And when the first room appeared, Kagen skillfully took out a picture frame from the hallway and swung it into the room.

“This!”

The prediction that it might be a trap came true, and all kinds of knives came out of all directions and started churning around the room with a snapping sound like a living creature.

If they had entered the room without thinking, they would have been stabbed through the body like a hedgehog and suffocated by now. The eerie blades cut through the air without a sound, and they danced so fast and bizarre that it was hard to follow them. Even though he hadn’t entered the room yet, because of the swiftly flying swords, Kagen unconsciously grabbed her next to him and flew to the corner of the stairs. Of course, it was only natural that she had her back fall to the floor first so that she wouldn’t get hurt. She took a deep breath without screaming. The knives flew like crazy in the air for quite some time.

Only old magic remained in the dead castle, trying to trap intruders and fugitives. Fortunately, as Kagen judged, the corner of the stairs was a blind spot where magic could not reach, but, still feeling uneasy, Kagen hugged Floris a little tighter. Her shallow breath touched his shoulder. A little more time passes and the knives come and go. It was only when she fell to the floor slowly that Kagen relaxed the arms that were holding her.

Floris, who was almost enveloped in his body, was holding her breath with calm purple eyes. No matter how humble he is, even for a woman, the scene where the swords were flying seemed shocking.

She said without stepping out of his arms. “There must have been a lot of horrible rooms like that. I see you skillfully grasping and avoiding.”

“It was the easiest thing in this castle than to pluck the monster’s head.”

Kagen had already crossed more traps than this to kill monsters. It took a full day to get to the top room where she was locked up.

“……Good job.”

As she slowly got out of his arms and stood up, she got into a position where she stood with her legs spread across his waist.
