Winter Hunting - Chapter 30
Chapter 30
“S-sorry… evil!”
Ariste hurriedly pushed him back and screamed a little while trying to get up. For a moment I couldn’t imagine it, I frowned on myself. The pain from.her ankle spread throughout her body. The power of the bullet was so great that it passed through her calf, and the pain it brought seemed to be catched on fire.
“If you move, your wounds will open.” The man shows off his muscular body and pushes back Ariste’s body.
“Maybe you have to cut it.”
That wasn’t a threat. The wounds were temporarily wrapped and could be opened at any time. If the wound that was barely closed open, bleeding would occur, and if the wound was extended, the affected area could have died and the leg might have to be cut off.
Ariste’s outstretched hand was grabbed by the man’s hand. As I raised my head, I met his red-colored eyes head on. That very gaze makes her whole body stiff just by looking at them.
“Oh, Duke.”
Ariste shrugged, opened her mouth and spoke. The man looked down at her as if he was the one she was talking about.
“Duke?””
A light smile spread over his mouth. “Do I look like a Duke?” His red eyes turned a little darker.
“Are you not?”
That couldn’t be the case, but a deep suspicion arose in the woman’s eyes. The man was closely watching the changes in the woman’s facial expressions. It was fun to watch all the emotions entangled in those expressive blue eyes.
“If not?”
“This…the forest is owned by the Duke of Icanus…”
“I heard that only him can hunt here.” Ariste’s lips were trembling.
“I am a hunter hired by the Duke.” The man’s red eyes glanced through the heads of the beasts stuck in the wall.
Ariste’s eyes also moved along with him.
“All of those things were the ones I caught.”
The heads of beasts with ferocious horns and teeth only live and move for a short time.
It was the same.
Ariste, who was looking at the hunting trophy, crouched down once again. Then the man was amazed at the wind that touched her bare skin and bit her. The man pulled Ariste’s body at once and wrapped her tightly within his arms. I was once again satisfied to see her soft and elastic chest being pressed against my firm muscles. As if the pink nipples were stimulated by his gaze, the peak touched and rubbed his skin, it was fascinating.
“I pick only the most beautiful things and put them on the wall.”
As he said, the faces of the beasts embedded in the wall were all superior. The gloss of the fur, the color of the eyes, and the shape of the horns were all extraordinarily beautiful. Probably, if the village hunters saw it, everyone would drool and covetted it.
“I don’t bet anything.”
At the same time, he gave strength to the arms that covered the woman’s waist. Ariste trembled in his arms. I couldn’t feel any warmth. Whenever the words he whispered into my ear, my blood seemed to freeze coldly.
“I caught this by myself, so I peeled it’s fur.”
Ariste realized that what he was lying on was the fur of a certain beast. The white fur with small spots was rare even in the village of Vito. It was a kind of beast I’ve never seen before.
“Is it a snow leopard?”
The snow leopard, who lives deep in the mountains, once caught and turned into a leather could be said to have a price so high it was beyond imagination. It was the reason why many hunters covet the Snowy Forest, and the rumors of how many people lost their lives after entering the forest without fear was frightening.
There were nobles and people who would pay as much as possible if the leather of a snow leopard was available, but the supply and demand was not easy. First the number of these creatures was too small, and the places they lived were extremely limited. In addition, it is not possible to enter the Duke’s hunting forest known for its habitat without showing their own necks.
“Why use it like this?”
“No, I mean…”
She added hurriedly, but his lips licked her collarbone along the rim of her neck. The itchy and hot feeling filled her up at the same time, and Ariste swallowed her breath.
“You want to have it?”
It wasn’t that I wanted to have this fur lying on the floor. I wasn’t hoping for something like this. Not such a luxury item, but something more desperate. Ariste wanted to live. ‘I wanted to live.’
“If you want to have it, I can give it.”
“I don’t need anything like this. I just…”
Ariste looked up to him with an unbelievable gaze.
“The Duke said that this was his hunting place alone. Anyone can’t enter the forest during that period of time.”
“You’ve probably heard the rumors about the killings.”
Ariste can’t say anything and bite her lips.
“The crowds had said that the Duke hunted alone because he went crazy. Did you really believe those rumors?”
“It’s a rumor?”
Ariste asked with her eyes wide open. A confused light filled her eyes.
“Yes, all rumors.”
He said, with a deep smile, as if Ariste’s reaction seemed amusing. But she got a little more confused.
