Duke - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
The younger sister screamed, and Sylvia ran away. Fortunately, the fat stepmother and the fake younger sister did not catch her. Silvia thus escaped the small rural village of the Pritra Empire.
After leaving her damn ‘home’, Sylvia weighed her survival plans. The only way for an unmarried young lady at the age of 18 with a useless noble family title to eat well is to go to a rich old man’s boudoir or do chores and earn pennies.
But, I wasn’t attracted to both.
I wonder if I’m going to have cold rice or hot rice for the next few days.
But Sylvia couldn’t lower her expectations. She’s a noble girl, but has to work as a maid? It wasn’t even worth it. She was without money, not without pride.
Although I have done all the housework for my stepmother and younger sister, it still happened within the fence of the family.
Sylvia was looking back and forth through the possibilities, and soon came up with a good option.
‘War maniac’ Duke Victor Aswan. He has been on the road for seven years and has become a very attractive prey. The Duke of Aswan has not had a master for seven years.
‘And he most probably won’t come back in the near future.’
There is only one reason a war maniac will return to the Empire, and it is to return his ashes to the homeland soil.
Aswan’s Duke Castle was the perfect place to live for Sylvia, who wants to live her life comfortably. It’s just as if you pick up something without an owner, you will become its owner, and if you pick a house without an owner, you will become the owner of the house.
Clever and daring, Sylvia decided to pretend to be the lover of the man she had never seen before.
Sylvia immediately went to the Duke of Aswan’s estate, and started her solo play in front of the butlers and the staff.
‘Country maiden Sylvia fell in love with the Duke of an enemy country. The Duke evacuated his beloved woman to his Duke Castle in the Prita Empire. On the way, he unfortunately met a robber, and all the escorts died, but Sylvia arrived at the mansion, and decided to visit.’
I wonder who would believe this ridiculous love story, but it was the scammer’s ability to make people believe in such an empty story.
Sylvia said that she had a baby in her stomach. As evidence, she showed off her marriage certificate written in a foreign language and a gold ring presented by the Duke. And they accepted Sylvia even though she still had a long song to sing.
So, to put it together, Sylvia Lauren was a pregnant foreign bride. Her husband was the Duke Victor Aswan, who was now in a war.
She had no doubts, believing what she was doing was for the country. Duke Victor Aswan will die in the battle field anyway. It was a tremendous sin to leave the Duke Castle floating in remembrance after the disappearance of its owner.
‘I will manage Victor’s property well!’
