Chapter 3

These were really happy days. Sylvia couldn’t stand it because she enjoyed opening her eyes every morning to such royal-like service. It was so easy and fun to manage people with just your fingertips.

She just smiled kindly, and the people would praise her. She was even criticized for being frugal, even if she was so luxurious.

Seeing a child shyly running away with flowers for her made Sylvia really feel as though she was the owner of the Duke Castle. 

She pledged to her falling tears, ‘since I have lived so hard till now, this happiness, I will properly enjoy it.’

However, soon after, a face that was not welcome to the Duke Castle appeared. Her eyes that had lived to see only the beautiful things for the past month were dimmed because of the man.

There were occasional beggars who would come to the Duke Castle, but how did this one avoid the guards, and came in to beg. 

Sylvia did not panic and showed mercy. “Please feed this man properly and send him away,”

The man’s fierce eyes pierced through his black hair that was drooping like seaweed all over his forehead. His firmly closed lips had no sign of going up. Even at first glance, he looked dissatisfied. 

Realizing what the man wanted, Sylvia laughed dismissively. “I’ll give you new clothes.”

“Both lower and upper sets!” I shouted with feigned generosity.

The maid, who had been stiff from before, opened her mouth carefully.

“Madam, he is the Duke.”

The hand that has been fanning herself softly stopped. Sylvia blinked slowly. She looked at the man up and down. She belatedly noticed why she felt the original rejection.

Scattered hair covered half of his face, armor that was lacquered with dried blood and grass debris, and a sword hanging on the man’s waist. Above all, Sylvia was forced to admit the fishy scent of blood that pierced her nose. This man did not come to beg.

 Her head, which seemed to have stopped for a moment, turned rapidly and recovered to being witty and shameless.

“…I mean. Are you the Duke ?”

“The true owner of this castle, my love, my Duke! He finally returned! Let’s have a toast! Everyone, welcome the Duke with the full display of joy and respect!” And now begins the shameless acting!
