Duke’s Exclusive Painter - Chapter 15
Chapter 15
As Cedric noded, James smiled softly as if he had just been freed.
With his permission as a starting point, preparations for inviting Rosalia proceeded quickly.
A week later…
On a sunny afternoon, Cedric was told that the guest had arrived, and he ordered the servants to lead the guest to the garden early. The amount of paperwork that he had to deal with right away was too much for him to get away instantly.
Cedric announced that he would be a little late, and ordered the servants to prepare refreshments in advance and be generously served.
As Cedric finished the last document to be reviewed, he slowly got up. After staying in one position for so long, his neck was stiff.
Still, I have to go out, because today was the day Roselia will come to the mansion after receiving his invitation letter.
He felt even better as he saw the weather outside the window. It was a sunny day without a single clius, as if welcoming their reunion. The sunlight streaming pierced through the greenery. Under the strict management of the gardener, the garden has achieved a wonderful view.
After leaving the main gate, and walking for a while, a party table in the garden appeared in his eyes. This table was mainly used to welcome guests who like to take a walk, and sit at the table.
There, he saw her back. “I’m sorry, I’m late.”
Prepared carefully on the table cloth, a variety of desserts and tea cups decorated with gold rims were laid out. Cedric pulled out the chair opposite of Rosalia.
Rosalia, who constantly had her eyes lowered, slowly raised her gaze. As soon as Cedric sat across from her, she got up and bent her body 90 degrees.
“Thank you for inviting me today. And for everything, Duke.”
It was a voice that seemed stiff, as if squeezing out formal words, and had no sincerity. And what’s her face like? Like an animal brought to the slaughter house.
The tea that was forced into the cup was splattered.
Cedric remembered their first meeting at the academy. He looked at her and motioned her to sit down. Roselia glanced at him, hesitated, then sat back down.
“Does the tea fit your taste?” He looked at the teacup in front of Roselia.
Cedric was sure she wouldn’t answer, because the amount of tea in front of her had not decreased at all, as she hadn’t taken a sip of it at all.
Rosalia answered reluctantly, while fiddling with the tea cup like she knew where his haze was pointed at.
“…yeah.”
