Imprint Of Count Wolf - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
She would be the Madam of four provinces, and thousands of knights would kneel at her feet. He also said that, with just her beauty, she would be able to capture the Count, and would be able to manage the vast manor. But Eleonora refused to listen to his coaxing.
“Why should I have to use my beauty to seduce a mere Count?”
( soooo….. She only seduces duke or higher.. noted.)
Eleanora refuted with puffy eyes, tired from crying.
“While I can buy jewelry and dresses to my heart’s content, where am I going to wear them? In such a rural corner where there are no socialites? No matter how many estates I have, as a simple Countess, how could the title of “being a princess” ever be an honor to me again? How can I live as a noble lady, as a blood relative of the King himself, with such a lowly warrior, who always goes out to fight and drenches his hands in blood, as my husband?! If I marry a man like that, I will rather kill myslef!”
The Duke of Aida loved her so much that he always put her as first priority in his mind. Seeing the pain within her eyes made him feel pain as well. For the next three days, Eleonora locked her door, and started screaming, that she would starve herself to death. In the end, the Duke raised the white flag. However, he did not have the guts to disobey the King’s direct order.
That’s when he found Lisa. Lisa was the Duke’s illegitimate child. However, no one knew if that was true. Because there was no way to find out her parentage. She looked very much like her mother, and there was no resemblance to the Duke of Aida. But there was a possibility.
Lisa’s mother was a maid serving at the home of the Duchess of Aida. The Duke went to visit his wife’s house, and made a move towards the maid. The very next day, the Duchess forced her to marry a serf and expelled her from the house.
(serfs are basically slaves working as farm and land labours.)
He wrote his name on the wedding vows, and pledged that it was that night, that he had their first night. On the night of the same moon as the day before, Lisa’s mother slept with her marriage partner. God only knows whose daughter Lisa is.
However, the Duchess did not forget Lisa’s mother’s existence.
“I couldn’t just take anyone and make her my daughter. Even the King will not tolerate it.”
However, if an illegitimate child was admitted into the family registry, it was a different matter. If it were a son, there was the ever looming problem of inheriting the title of the Duke, so it could not be done without the permission of the Royal family, but not for a daughter. Once he declared it and wrote her name on the family tree, she became the daughter of Duke of Aida, who must have been related to him.
One can only imagine the shrieking cries and angry wailings of the Duchess. But for her daughter, who said she would die if she married Count Arnulf, she let it be.
