Chapter 9

Eileen’s eyes wavered at the bitter tone, as if she had been waiting for someone to visit this place for a long time.

“Are you staying here alone?”

“Yes. Unless I’m the monster or test subject you saw earlier, I am the only one in this forest.”

There was clearly loneliness in Richard’s voice. Maybe staying alone was because wizards were rare even in the human world. Eileen guessed in her mind why Richard guarded the forest alone. Although his intentions were good, it seemed like he was really good at showing his courage. ‘I think Richard is one of the most kind people among good people.’ Although I had only met one human so far, Richard, I knew that he was special even among humans. Eileen glanced at his back and thought. ‘It feels like I’m going on an adventure.’ With the warrior who never fell into the stories of devils and angels. ‘It’s really a good thing I came to the human world.’

“You can come in here.”

Richard opened the entrance to the magic tower. Until I entered, all I could see was a staircase going up to the top, but as soon as I stepped in, it strangely turned into a lobby. From the outside, it just looked like a tall tower, but the inside, where hundreds, possibly thousands of magics were placed, was a more complex structure than a huge mansion.
