‘I couldn’t get rid of the habit of wielding my high authority, and I wanted my grandson to give it back in my hands and let me wield it freely again. But this grandmother didn’t know that you, son and grandson, who had grown weak and low, would become so different. If I knew the power would end up in his hands, I would not have done the foolish thing to sneak a woman into the grandson’s father’s bed to aid her schemes.’ Her nasty thoughts would not have surprised the indifferent Jeon sitting across her.
“I will stand up first.”
General Jeon stood from the seat and approached both escorts. As if to be in the lead, the two escorts guided the General to the place where the Old butler had been brought.
The entourage from the courtyard passed through a long corridor and arrived at the study where green bamboo was planted. As the two escorts opened the door, the sunlight that struck the inside fell over the dry back of the man. The Old butler turned around and found the General and fell flat on the floor. “Greeting the General.”
“Stand up.”
General Jeon held the hand of the Old butler who crumpled his eyes. His hair and his top coat were in a mess, and his flesh was thin and dry as if sticking to his bone. Even if you look roughly at it, it was the appearance of a person who came out after being locked up somewhere for several months. He had nothing to say to the General with his prostrated appearance.
He looked at the escorts. They left the study and stood guard outside understanding the command. Then the Butler finally spoke up,
“I was trapped in a room in the western courtyard by the Old lady. “
“It seems like you were trapped for a few months now.” He asked again.
“For what reason?”
“I refused to give her the keys to the warehouse.”
“What did she do?”
“As soon as General’s grandmother came, she robbed the warehouse. “
“Why did you let her?”
There are no thieves. The General spit out as if it was ridiculing. The Old butler raised his head, saying he was sorry for not protecting the keys.
“It seemed that there were quite a few attendants who I hadn’t seen before, while I was away.”
