Sigrid - Chapter 50
Chapter 50: Veramood Lunatil
‘Hairstyle is important.’
Sigrid realized a new fact and wrote it down in her head.
Marisuez tapped the armrest with a comb for a moment and said, “I need to cut some bangs.”
“Uh?”
Sigrid looked at herself in the mirror, surprised.
“Scissors,”
Marisuez took the hairbrush and the scissors from the maid.
“Bangs?” Sigrid asked.
Marisuez nodded her head.
“I think it would look much better with bangs. You’re still you, don’t you like a more cute impression?”
Then Marisuez said seriously. “Do you believe me?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay then.”
Marisuez tidied up Sigrid’s bangs with agrin. In the meantime, the maid quickly put a long cloth around Sigrid’s neck. Marisuez used the scissors without mercy.
Sigrid’s silver hair fell down.
“You have to keep trimming your bangs. So here’s the thing. When you trim your bangs, it’s time to get you hair done. Otherwise, you would only grow it and never trim it.”
It was important advice that should be told since Marisuez knew how Sigrid was.
“Now, it’s done.”
“Oh my, Sigrid, you’re cute.” Rowen Green smiled.
Sigrid looked in the mirror. It indeed made her look younger. Her face became cute.
“How is it? Doesn’t it suit you?” Marisuez put the scissors on the table.
Sigrid nodded her head.
“Okay, now we just need to put her hair up.”
At that, the ladies-in-waiting took the place of Marisuez and braided Sigrid’s hair again.
“Okay, it looked more lovely than before. I mean, that’s the trend these days.”
Marisues nodded her head in satisfaction.
Sigrid felt awkward when her bangs tickled her forehead.
All the jewelry brought by Marisuez was delicate and have subtle girlish charm because they were her taste.
Marisuez put her hands on the necklace and earrings that she brought.
“Hmm.. I felt something is not right.”
“Should I lend mine too?”
“Are you okay with that?”
“The ball is at my house, so we’re not going anywhere.” Rowen Green smiled and then asked her maid to bring her earrings and necklace.
Marisuez went through twenty or so boxes one by one and then chose one.
“This will suit you.”
It was a large, straight-shaped earring with a cool tone sunset-colored with a little decoration. To craft a gem of this level, of this size, and in that way, the price of it was definitely high.
“Since the earrings are big, and dress goes up to neck, we can omit the rest. Yes, this is good.”
Marisuez looked at the mirror from behind Sigrd who was wearing the earrings. She then grinned.
“Shall we put on new makeup?” Rowen Green looked at Sigrid too on the mirror.
“That’s right.” Marisuez quickly nodded her head.
By the time the maid finished Sigrid’s make up, it was already time for the ball to begin. Not everyone gathered from the start time anyway, and it took a long time for the venue to mature.
“Today’s hostess is my mother.”
Rowen Green reassured them so they could relax.
“I have a partner to dance with anyway.”
Sigrid wondered after hearing Rowen Green words. She looked at Rowen Green, “Is it already decided?”
“Siri, unlike us, Rowen Green has a wonderful fiance.”
Sigrid jumped out of her seat in surprise hearing what Marisuez said.
“You have fiancé?”
“Yes, I have a fieancé that my parents have decided on.”
“Who is it? What kind of person is it?”
Rowen Green laughed at Sigrid’s question.
“I’ll introduce him to you today.”
“Yes.”
Sigrid nodded deeply. When she looked in the mirror again, she felt like she was herself for some reason, especially after finishing her makeup.
Marisuez put her arms on Sigri’s shoulder and said, while looking in the mirror, “Alright, this isn’t bad. Now, I have no problem introducing you as my friend.”
“Oh, that’s a relief,” Rowen Green’s voice was somewhat in a poignant tone.
Marisues lightly stick her tongue out at Rowen green.
“Why? It’s nice to be pretty.”
“That’s true, though.”
“Let’s go, Sigrid.” Marisuez led Sigrid by the hand.
Rowen green followed them with a little sigh.
When they went down the stairs and entered the ballroom, Sigrid felt the heat.
The Marquis of Alsekidna’s ballroom glistened with colorful decorations. Even though the ball had just begun, the ballroom was full of people. Sigrid could see how hungry people were for big social gatherings. It turned out, just having a light tea party or small meetings in a salon was not enough.
People in livery were walking around offering wine or champagne. Cold lemonade and light finger foods were placed on one side of the venue. An orchestra made up of about ten people was playing sweet music. The atmosphere heated a little more after a dance song started according to the hostess’ glance.
Not long after coming down the hall, Rowen green was immediately surrounded by people greeting her. Still, she called Marisuez and Sigrid to her side, and brought them into a circle of people, so they could talk comfortably. Marisuex was easy to talk to, but Sigrid was a bit stiff. In the end, Sigrid couldn’t stand it.
“I’ll go get some lemonade.”
“Sure.” Marisuez grinned.
Sigrid quickly slipped out of the crowd. She was out of her mind. How could she talk with five or six people at the same time? Her shoulders seemed to stiffen by themselves. When she drank lemonade, she felt like she was coming back to live.
“Sigrid?”
Someone called her from behind, Sigrid quickly looked back.
“Morris?”
“As expected, it’s you. I almost didn’t recognize you. If it weren’t for your silver hair, I really wouldn’t have known.” Morris replied with a smile.
Sigrid subconsciously put her hand to her head but quickly lowered it when he touched the hairpin.
‘I can’t ruin my hair.”
“Is it weird?”
Morris shook his head when Sigrid looked down at her outfit.
“No, it suits you very well.”
“That’s good”
Sigrid smiled in relief. Both Marisuez and Rowen Green told her that it fit her, but she wanted to hear a more objective opinion.
Sigrid said seriously, “You’re cool too.”
Morris looked down at his outfit and then raised his head.
“Thank you.”
“Moris, who is this beautiful lady?”
