Surviving as the Weakest Maid in the World - Chapter 2 Part 1
Chapter 1. Maid Evelyn
<Laura Chronicles>, a virtual reality role-playing game, was a female-oriented game based on the romance fantasy novel, “The Story of the Great Moravia Empire.”
The main character remains the same, but the difference from the original is that Laura, the Dark Tower Archmage from『The Story of the Great Moravia Empire』, has been selected as the final boss.
In the original, Archmage Laura was one of the minions of the evil god, Barmot, and was merely a villain who put the main characters in trouble.
<Laura Chronicles> is basically a solo-player game.
As a player, there is a feature that allows you to build intimacy and bonds with NPCs, but what’s special is that the story can change slightly at any time because of this.
So, even if someone else plays the same game, not all players experience the exact same story. Additionally, if I chose a character to play, I could meet other characters as NPCs.
The fun of this game is to build bonds with the NPCs, overcome the scenario, and reach the final ending.
As the title is <Laura Chronicle>, the final ending was to avoid Laura’s threat, connect the original main protagonists as a couple, and defeat Laura, the final evil boss.
Only those who overcome all the hardships with the main characters and defeat the final boss, Laura can see the unreleased story that was not in the original novel. They can also have their name put in the Hall of Fame.
If you can’t connect the love between the main characters, or someone dies before the ending, or you can’t defeat Laura, the final boss, you have to start from the beginning again.
The problem is that I, Na Yuna, have been trapped in that game for several days now.
I never thought that my only hobby to relieve work stress would become a prison.
Obviously, I didn’t feel anything strange at all when I entered the game login page.
I just waited while looking at the window that said, [10-star character random draw], which was an event given only during solo play, and [Choosing characters to play……]
Not 10 stars, but 1 star!
Evelyn, the most insignificant and weakest of the characters, was chosen.
She was one of the characters I wanted to avoid the most.
It is clear that she has a beautiful appearance that can capture anyone’s attention, but……
From my personal experience, a face that seemed somewhat gentle, and pretty but not stubborn, was the ideal appearance of someone who will live suffering.
And she’s even a maid.
At first, I wanted to leave right away. The system settings window with the shutdown button was not functioning, so I couldn’t press it.
In other words, forced logout was impossible.
Fortunately, I know most of the scenarios in the original game.
So, I first hit anything that looked dangerous with a broom. I couldn’t die while feeling that extreme pain again. Despite my efforts, I died twice more in less than a day.
The first was a bee attack.
The second was when I slipped and fell down the stairs while looking for rest area.
The third was when I was exhausted and laid down on the bed in the hotel I had managed to find. However, the piled-up blankets fell and I suffocated to death.
There was also a point where I almost died again when a bunch of sloppy flower bouquets, from who knows where, came crashing down in front of my door at night.
It was clear that she was the weakest not only in the game but anywhere in the world. So what I got was 2 gold and 50 silver. I was even more disappointed because it seemed like a reasonable amount for Evelyn, a lowly maid.
“How can we defeat the final boss with this…… Ugh.”
I sat on the bed in the room I had barely found and muttered as I looked at the old broom next to me like a soulmate.
I think making wooden chopsticks with this would be more useful.
The broom that I received upon logging into the game had no abilities as it was a unique item of Evelyn, who was famous for her incompetence. It looked even more shabby and worn after beating the bee.
Another problem was that every time you die, you return to the very beginning. Completing a quest did not mean it would be saved. Also, what was the hidden quest that I received as soon as I escaped death?
