1999th bride - Chapter 28
Chapter 28
“Oh, I’m sorry. I thought peanut butter was really good”
Wolfward poured milk into the empty glass in front of her with a blunt expression on his face. Melissa fiddled with the glass, then quickly picked up a napkin and wiped her lips.
“You know, Wolfward. Did you get hit by a comet and have the power of a star?”
It was a very cautious tone. Maybe he’ll be offended. But Wolfward gurgled out his share of the milk jar and answered meekly, with a look on his face that had not changed much.
“People say that I was struck by a comet and had the power of a star. But that’s not half true.”
“Then you’re saying it’s half true?”
“Only having the power of a star.”
Being interested, Melissa’s eyes twinkled. She was really curious. Wolfward Lancelote was only known for being very powerful, and all his information was kept secret. It was said that no one knows how strong his strength was. It was only true that there was no one in this world who could defeat Wolfward.
“I was the son of an ordinary farmer. When I turned twenty, it was nothing special. And I celebrated my birthday like everyone else.”
“Yes?.”
“But that was just the surface. I pretended nothing was wrong, but every night I had strange dreams. As my birthday approached, the dream became more dazzling. It was a dream that told me many truths.”
But Wolfward, to his surprise, told her about his past. Because she didn’t know he would, Melissa was really surprised and was very happy at the same time. Because he trusts her, he must say something like that.
“I can tell you more, but for now, let’s focus on eating. I’ll tell you the rest by watching the meteor shower tonight.”
“Yes, of course.” Curious, Melissa didn’t pester him because she didn’t want to.
“I’ll be back around ten o’clock in the evening.”
“Okay.”
“Don’t go to the lakeside alone.”
“I won’t.”
After a while, Wolfward, who had finished washing the dishes, stood by the door and said goodbye. Melissa saw him off, and Wolfward left worried and gave her a deep kiss on the forehead.
‘Well, it’s a little awkward too.’
But it felt very good, shameful, and very strange. Not so long ago, she used to be no different, but now it’s so different that she felt lost. Melissa’s change of attitude was divine, she felt very happy.
It’s because she’s not used to it when she’s greeted like this.
‘I really wish it could just go on like this.’
Melissa begged like that and quietly closed her eyes. To be honest, she was happy. It would be a lie if she didn’t expect the meteor shower tonight.
Melissa lit a candle and put her clothes on. Even in summer, it was clear that wearing thin clothes at night and being exposed to the wind for a long time would be bad for health. So, Wolfward appeared in front of Melissa waiting.
