Amelia Bookstore - Chapter 16
Chapter 16
He coughed once and whispered a little to Amelia.
“I think you better get away for a while.”
“Then do you want to go to my house? It’s a bit of a walk, but it’s not far.”
“Didn’t Miss Amelia say she lives alone?”
“Yes. The mansion on Celine Street is so big that it even has employees, but the house I’m living in isn’t that big and there’s no one there. I won’t attack you, so don’t be nervous.”
Edwin stared at Amelia, who had said the same thing as when she casually handed him the key to the bookstore, and eventually smiled.
Without even knowing, she grabbed Edwin’s hand, which had fallen somewhere, and pulled it forward. And there were people watching the two of them while they were on their way, saying, ‘Must have been a lovers quarrel.’
“What did I just see?”
“Isn’t it Vice-Captain Edwin?”
“Was he with a girl? Deputy Chief Goza was it?”
No matter how noble he was, he didn’t always sip alcohol with dignity in the mansion. Sometimes they enjoy the atmosphere in a lively bar, but it was the knights who gathered for it. He just saw Edwin just in time, so he was chasing after him to suggest a drink, and then witnessed a great sight. They looked at each other without saying a word and nodded their heads as they thought the same thing.
“Our vice-captain was so kind that he was a sinful man.”
“Leave men and women.”
“If a person who used to look at women like a stone would even hold hands and fight in front of so many people, wouldn’t it have been nearly the end?”
“Let’s just watch warmly and spread the rumors. When the vice-chief gets married, we become more comfortable.”
Edwin was a very upright and good person, but his only flaw was that he didn’t want to go home and had a tight schedule for training every month. If it was because he had a lover, they had to support it. By the time the knights were united and went to their regular bar to have a drink, Amelia and Edwin had also arrived on Laplus Street.
In places where commoners live, buildings are close together, but since this is an area where wealthy people live, the houses are separated from each other at a certain distance. Amelia led Edwin to a white house with a beautiful garden, among them.
“Come on in.”
“Oh, yes. Excuse me.”
He thought it was already the second time, so she passed it on without a big deal, but looking back, the room in the bookstore was actually an ambiguous space to call it a house. Wasn’t it separated with only one staircase in between? However, this time, Edwin was somehow embarrassed because it was literally Amelia’s space.
Upon entering, he saw a hallway built of brightly colored wood. Unlike the dark and quiet room on the second floor of the bookstore, the overall atmosphere was very bright and shining. As Edwin looked around reflexively, Amelia was shocked when she realized that she had been holding his hand all the time.
“ I’m sorry, Edwin. I kept holding your hand.”
And Edwin realized it only after listening to her. This time he was about to reply that it was okay, as usual, but his mouth did not fall when he remembered what he had done in a crowded square. Maybe someone didn’t see it? If it even got into Vanessa’s ears, he really didn’t want to think about what would happen next. Amelia, who wasn’t really waiting for Edwin’s answer, didn’t know what he was thinking, smiled sheepishly and let go of his hand.
“It doesn’t matter if you watch slowly.”
