Amelia Bookstore - Chapter 17
Chapter 17
“Oh, no. Don’t worry about it, it’s just something I’ve been looking for without my knowledge.”
“Oh, yes. Then follow me.”
Amelia looked back completely and moved a little faster. Edwin sighed silently and followed her. Amelia took Edwin to her room. There was a reception room to welcome guests, but it was not used in the first place, so there was nothing equipped except basic furniture. Edwin was at a loss for words to say to Amelia, who climbed the stairs telling him to follow, and guided me to a place that looked like a bedroom. Even though he knows she doesn’t have any other ideas.
Actually, Amelia had no idea at all. Amelia, who doesn’t like to wander around, had a habit of putting all of her frequently used items in the space between her hands and eyes. All he had to do was bring Edwin into her room, as she had the softest sofa, the best chair, and the pretty tea set, all in her own room. However, unlike the second floor of the bookstore, where there was not much of a ‘bedroom’ other than a bed, Amelia’s room now looked like a lady’s bedroom. A bed with a canopy, a door leading to the dressing room, and cute ornaments such as music boxes and dolls generally felt that way. Of course, books were still scattered on the floor carelessly.
“Sit in a comfortable place. Shall I give you the tea you’ve always had?”
Edwin nodded quickly and sat down on the nearest chair. He tried to convince himself of this situation. Amelia is a commoner, and Edwin himself knows little about noble ladies, but even less of commoners. Perhaps commoner women have no resistance to letting a man they consider friendly into their room. Yeah, let’s do it like that. Edwin gave meaning to Amelia’s meaningless actions and didn’t want to be alone in tension. With his head bowed slightly and looking straight ahead, Amelia was boiling water in a small brazier and pulling a glass out of a drawer. There was even a sink right next to it.
Normally, no one behaves like that in a room, so it must have been that Amelia modified it to suit her taste. If he didn’t see it with my own eyes, he could easily imagine what it would look like not only here, but also at the mansion on another street. Edwin continued his futile thoughts, trying not to pay attention to the fallen books, even for a moment. As before, Amelia hummed and walked along with a cute teacup and sweets. The sweet scent puts you at ease. He took a long breath and looked at Amelia, who was sitting opposite him.
“Actually, I thought Miss Amelia would have left the Empire already.”
“Yes? Ah, so… so far, I don’t. Yes!”
“ Why?”
Amelia smiled awkwardly, averting her gaze, regretting that she had said it frankly that she was going to do that. Naturally, Edwin understood that there was a reason why she couldn’t leave with that reaction alone. If it was Edwin, he would have pretended not to know, but since he came this far, he concluded that it would be better to have an honest conversation with Amelia here. If it goes on like this, it was clear that one day she would go into hiding like this time again. Edwin, who still frowned slightly while sipping hot tea, opened his mouth very seriously.
“As I said before, I can really ignore Miss Amelia whatever she does.”
“Well, I know that. The problem is with me, not Edwin”.
Amelia replied in a small way with a look of embarrassment, as if she had committed a crime. In fact, the reason why she organized the bookstore this time was also because she felt embarrassment, but it was also because she was worried that she might really poison Edwin.
“I don’t want to do anything bad to Mr. Edwin. The horrible thing I’m talking about right now is not to attack, but to kill…”
‘…Oh, that’s right.”
“You’re going to pass it on like that.”
