The wizard asked, looking at the fairy whose eyes were as wide as candy. “Do you like it?”

“It’s really cool!”

It was as if the kingdom’s banquet scene from a fairy tale had been brought before my eyes. As Eileen sat down on the chair Richard had pulled out, a red table mat and shiny dishes greeted her. Richard, who was sitting next to her, cut the food Eileen was looking at into bite-sized pieces and placed them on a plate. The first thing on the plate was roast beef with brown gravy. Originally, fairies were omnivores and liked to eat meat. However, the laziness of the fairies, who thought that the process of eating meat was more labor- intensive than gathering and eating plants, won out. Maybe that’s why it’s really fun to see meat cooked in the fairy world.

It was always about picking stars. Every time I chewed the soft beef, the juices spread out and my five senses were mesmerized. When I ate it with well- baked potatoes that were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and crunchy, ripe asparagus, I felt like crying.

“It’s really, really delicious.”

Eileen experienced for the first time that eating overly delicious food could make her shiver. It was so delicious that I couldn’t even swallow it. It wasn’t just roast beef. I couldn’t have felt more sorry than this because I was so captivated by the delicious food that I made my friend wait on me and couldn’t even eat properly.

“I ate the meal alone. I guess I was excited because it was so delicious. Richard should eat too.”

Eileen put a steak on her fork and put it to his mouth. Among the many delicacies from the mountains and seas, it was the one she enjoyed the most. After hesitating for a moment, Richard opened his mouth and a small piece of meat fell inside.

Richard chewed it and swallowed it and answered kindly to the nervous Eileen as if she had just fed him the food he had prepared.

“Delicious.”

“Really? I’m glad.”

As if relieved by those words, Eileen put something into Richard’s mouth. Fortunately, Eileen’s feelings of regret grew even stronger when she saw Richard, who seemed to have similar tastes, and was able to eat it well.

“You must have been very hungry. Do it…..”

“It’s okay since I usually eat less. Rather, I only eat what Eileen eats.”

“I’m full just looking at it.”

Richard shook his head at Eileen’s apology. However, it was difficult for Eileen to believe those words at face value.
