Duke’s Exclusive Painter - Chapter 47
What caught my eye was the Young Lady’s dress made of dazzling jewels and pretty silk that shone in the sunlight as she entered the room. It was like a halo was emanating from her.
Roselia slowly lowered her gaze. Her dress, which exposed her ankles, with her work apron over it were messed up with paint all over the place. It was in stark contrast to the appearance of that Young lady, who would not be embarrassed if she attended a ball right away.
The more she compares herself to the Duke and the Young Lady, the more she felt clearly that her appearance was scruffy Cedric’s unobtrusive conquest and the Young Lady’s splendid outfit matched well like an elegant pair.
Well done, I didn’t do anything wrong, but I felt like dying again..
Roselia stared blankly at him, standing side by side with the Young Lady. There was nothing I could do other than that. That harmonious scene, anyone could see that it was not her and Cedric, but him and that Young Lady.
The moment they walked out of the door side by side, Roselia received a flash of realization.
Cedic knows that the spring has come, so he came close to her because of the warm season, it means that she can also come to him.
(I think she means that, since it was spring season, yah know, spring is a season of love. Cedric can come to her to date, meaning this young lady can also invite Cedric. Can also hinted something like, they have been meeting each other for a long time now. And since it’s spring, they can go out to date or something…hehehe XD or maybe, I’m just thinking so much…)
Roselia mechanically puts the meal Marsh delivered into her mouth.
I was out of my mind.
‘Why did I think of that?’
Her mind was still cluttered with the thoughts of Cedric and the Duke of Kant’s daughter.
She was so rude, why hasn’t she ever assumed that he had someone he loved? This is why there is a saying that a person who falls in love is selfish. She was so blinded by her love that she didn’t even try to recognize that he was also in love.
Gradually, the more I ate, the more my appetite went down. Over and over in my mind, the sight of him and the Duke’s daughter standing side by side from before, developed like an after image. In the end, she didn’t even eat half of the meal that Marsha had brought, and she cried sitting in front of it. Roselia sighed as she sat down on a chair in front of the canvas.
I didn’t have the motivation to finish the portrait quickly. Even with just this unfinished picture, the young lady’s appearance gave off an aura of dignity.
Originally, Roselia didn’t have this low self esteem, but after working with Cedric, her self-esteem was scratched one by one without her knowing it.
She was l;iving with him, but he was so high up that she couldn’t even look at him. Even when she decided to let go of her greeting, the feeling of love always fueled her impulses and expectations. She expected him at his own pace, and she was hurt by his one action and one tone.
(I tried searching for the meaning of this phase, but I can’t find one. But “one tone” is the same as monotonous, meaning dull and tedious. I think FL thought of this, since ml only had one reason to approach her, and his mature and serious attitude towards him, was automatically represented as a dull tone, as Cedric always acts like that towards her. Anyway, it could be seen as an act of disregarding her as a woman, and only seeing her as a subordinate or something…again (´−｀) ﾝｰ hehehe)
